Women have great selection in maternity clothes these days. Materials have evolved to allow classic styles in stretch materials. Trying to decide between fashion and cost for a limited use piece of clothing, five or six months on average, always seems an internal argument when shopping. A good selection of knitted wear is always a classy choice.

We can usually get away with the wardrobe we already have for the first few months. Slightly bigger bulges in some areas will make them sexier. When regular clothes will no longer fit, many women seem to prefer to forget about fashion trends and cocoon themselves into shapeless clothing. The long sleek drape of a long sweater can maintain fashion, and it is something we will want to keep and use long after our child arrives.

Don't forget the accessories for your sweater coat. Select bold accessories to match your colors, keeping visual details on top of your sweater. Silk wrap belts and long scarves in contrasting colors are a great statement. Anything that will accentuate your shoulders and bust line are very flattering.

It is usually recommended that you do not bare too much skin. Showing your growing belly in a halter top may work for celebrities and magazine covers, but few women feel comfortable with every day wear that is too revealing during pregnancy. My personal opinion only is that pregnancy is one of the most beautiful periods in a woman's life. When it's time to shop for clothes, selecting items that will add to your wardrobe for years is a rewarding long-term choice. For outer style and warmth, a sweater coat always fits.
